Living Machines

Here are two interesting papers from “Living Machines: The International Conference on Biomimetic and Biohybrid Systems.” Both papers extend and contextualise existing models of insect navigation.

Thierry Hoinville, Rüdiger Wehner and Holk Cruse (2012) Learning and Retrieval of Memory Elements in a Navigation Task. In Biomimetic and Biohybrid Systems. Prescott, Vershure, Lepora, Mura (eds) Lecture Notes in Computer Science Vol. 7375

Andrew Philippides, Bart Baddeley, Philip Husbands and Paul Graham (2012) How Can Embodiment Simplify the Problem of View-Based Navigation?
In Biomimetic and Biohybrid Systems. Prescott, Vershure, Lepora, Mura (eds) Lecture Notes in Computer Science Vol. 7375

pdfs of these papers are available from the authors: thierry.hoinville (at) uni-bielefeld.de OR andrewop@sussex.ac.uk
